The International Ministry of Jesus (Anne-Marie is the director) partnering with Lamnyak (Maasai son of the chief from Sukuro village) and Charles Loleku (Africa Inland Mission) drilled a well and hit water. No one believed they could find water there. The province has been in a 10 year drought of which that past two have been severe. The geologist searched and found the water near the only church building (a small mud structure) in the area. To the people it was a sign that God saw them and loved them. Here’s life Africa, under the leadership of Bishop Hotay, sent a team of evangelists to show the Jesus film to the people in their own language. 186 Maasai accepted Jesus and bibles (written and audio) were distributed to the new believes in their language.
A team of six people from the USA traveled to Tanzania for the dedication of the well and the showing of the Jesus film. They saw firsthand how destitute and isolated the Maasai are in that district. The people have no electricity, schools or heath clinics. 6000 people in the district are still without clean water and need wells in their villages too.
